In 1975 my mother arrived in the North Shore of Oahu. Straight off the plane, she didn’t have a plan. She was living her dream, had unexpected adventures ahead and was feeling alive! Right before settling for a night at the beach, she made some friends and ended up staying at their place. A linocut print with gold leaf marks this series of “golden years” which will feature more pieces inspired by my mom’s adventures in paradise.
This is one of the series of prints from 'The Golden Years', which portray my mother during her adventures in Hawai'i and the French Polynesia. These prints have a gold leaf applied by hand.
